Sleep Studies
We have a full service facility setup for your comfort and convenience. Our rooms are beautifully appointed much like you would find in your bedroom at home. Our sleep study services happen during the late evening thru the early morning.
What is a sleep study?
If you have chronic sleeping problems, your doctor may want to conduct a sleep study. The primary type of sleep study is called a polysomnogram (PSG).
A polysomnogram is a sleep study test used to assist in the diagnosis of sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome and other sleep disorders. It is a painless, non-invasive test that requires an overnight stay at our sleep center in which you will be monitored and evaluated by our board
certified sleep technologists while you sleep.
During a polysomnogram sleep study, electrodes will be placed on your face, scalp, chest, limbs and a finger. Your abdomen will be wrapped with elastic belts to measure breathing. Most people sleep very well during a sleep study test as our sleep center staff will do our very best to make your
sleeping environment as comfortable as possible.
While you are asleep, the sensors will monitor the following:
1. Brain waves
2. Blood oxygen level
3. Heart rate
4. Breathing rate
5. Eye and leg movements
6. Sleep stages and cycles
A PSG can identify the disruption of sleep states and cycles. Once the polysomnogram data is collected, interpreted and analyzed, our doctor will make a diagnosis and devise a treatment plan specific to you.
